About me

My name is Jennie Thompson. I think I have always been a photographer. Pictures tell

the story of life. Each one is precious in its’ content and captures a special, unique moment in time.

I am a 4th generation Bozemanite and proud of that. My education at MSU allowed me

the opportunity for a fabulous career in the laser (photonic), high-tech industry, that is very successful in this college town.

I had the privilege, luck and fortitude to stick with the same laser company for over 25 years. My job and believe me, it was the best job in the whole company, was building lasers from the ground up. I was a laser system technical integrator for production. Yes, indeed I assembled and combined all kinds of laser systems! 

I recently retired and decided it’s time to pursue my passion…photography. I am in my element shooting events, social gatherings, sports, families, pets, children and portraits, that give joy and happiness to the people participating.

My family, friends and associates are supportive and have been very gracious letting me spend the past 15 years practicing my craft at their weddings, sports events, group and family sessions, with portraits being one of my favorites.

Hi! I’m Amanda, the Operations Manager behind the scenes at Momma Bear Photography, where creativity meets organization (and a little bit of chaos turns into pure magic!). While I handle the logistics, I’m also right there at shoots-  to make sure everything runs smoothly. My favorite part? Helping people feel at ease and comfortable. 

Born and raised in Montana, I’ve always appreciated the natural beauty and tight-knit community that surrounds us. My love for creativity runs deep, and that’s why I’m so passionate about what I do: making people feel seen, valued, and happy. 

Creativity inspires me every day, and I love being part of bringing Jennie’s vision—and our clients' dreams—to life. As a fellow photography enthusiast, collaborating with someone who shares that passion for capturing moments is incredibly rewarding.
